Established in 1923 and covering more than 517,000 acres, the Allegheny National Forest (ANF) is Pennsylvania‘s only National Forest. This forest and the industry that has helped to shape it over the decades have been and continue to be a vital part of the rural economy of the Lumber Heritage region.
